THE REASON WE EXIST
Our Purpose
LOVE GOD
Loving God begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. As we grow in our knowledge of Him, we begin to love Him more and love those around us as He would love them.
SERVE OTHERS
Jesus was a Servant, and He gave us an example to love others and serve them. Selflessly serving those around us is the greatest way to display the love of Jesus in our lives.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
When you love Jesus and strive to serve others, you will begin to make a difference to those around you. As a church, we strive to make a difference to our community and throughout the world through world missions.
WHAT THE SCRIPTURES PROCLAIM
What We Believe
God the Father
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
(Genesis 1:1, 26,27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:5; John 14:10, 26)
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and virgin-born in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His finished work on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as a our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
(Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8; Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 7:1; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 9:24, 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
(2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25)
The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed and, therefore, are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical, historical, and cultural meaning. God has preserved His Word in the King James Version of the Bible which shall be the official and only English translation used by the church.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)
The Human Race
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam's sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Man is totally depraved and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
(Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:22-23, 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19)
Salvation
Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must first accept it. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
(Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12, 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)
Eternal Security
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot "lose" it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. Satan cannot take away your peace and security.
(John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
(John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9)
Creation
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour time periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and the Theistic Evolution Theory as unscriptural theories of origin.
(Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent return of Christ Who will rapture His church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel.
(Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Zechariah 14:4-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6)
